MSM

MSM is a naturally occurring sulfur. The full name being Methyl Sulfonyl Methane. MSM is a vital nutrient that you should have in your daily intake. MSM is often called "Organic Sulfur".

Sulfur is one of the most basic building blocks of the structure of the body. Sulfur is a mineral found in rather high concentrations in our body tissues. About half of the body's total sulfur is concentrated in the muscles, while the other half is found in the brain, hair, skin and bones. Sulfur comprises 0.25 percent of our body weight.

Sulfur has a vital relationship with protein and is found in the amino acids methionine, cystine, and cysteine. These amino acids are known as the sulfur bearing amino acids which are considered the building blocks of protein. Vital organic sulfur is necessary for good health. Proteins contain sulfur, while carbohydrates and fats do not. Your body can manufacture cysteine for cell building out of the MSM that you give it. 

Many diets lack the proper amount of protein and therefore Sulfur. This may also be happening because artificial, petro chemical based fertilizers have broken the sulfur chain in our food production. Sulfur is necessary for collagen synthesis. Collagen is an insoluble fibrous protein found in vertebrates. It is the dominant component of connective tissue and bones.

Sulfur operates as a synthesizer and activator with the B vitamins, thiamine, vitamin C, biotin, and pantothenic acid, all of which are needed for metabolism and healthy nerves.

MSM is a natural form of organic sulfur found in all living organisms, and is present in low concentrations in our body fluids and tissues. It is found in a variety of fresh foods, including fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, and milk. We can get this essential nutritional sulfur from these foods but we lose most of this absolutely important mineral by heating, drying and processing our food. A wide range of primary pharmacological actions of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has been documented in laboratory studies: membrane penetration, membrane transport, effects on connective tissue, anti-inflammation, nerve blockage (analgesia), bacteriostasis [stopping cell growth without killing cells], diuresis [increased urination], enhancement or reduction of the effectiveness of other drugs, cholinesterase inhibition, nonspecific enhancement of resistance to infection, vasodilation, muscle relaxation, antagonism to platelet aggregation, and influence on serum cholesterol in experimental hypercholesterolemia [high cholesterol]. This substance induces differentiation and function of leukemic and other malignant cells [change from malignant to non-malignant]. DMSO also has prophylactic radioprotective properties and cryoprotective actions. It protects against ischemic [restricted blood flow] injury.

MSM usually causes a detoxification for the first several days you use it. When you take toxins in, of any sort, the body tries to get rid of them. If there are too many, the body has some desperate measures it uses to handle the problem. First, "getting rid" of toxins often involves the immune system simply attacking the toxins.This is an expensive use of your immune system. When the immune system can't handle the toxic overload it will start storing in the body's fat tissue. During detoxification this can lead to the discomfort one may feel. Agitation, sleeplessness, nausea etc. Literally the poisons are re-entering the body.

The question might arise as to whether the MSM, taken as a supplement, will be as effective as the MSM contained in fresh foods. Fortunately, a study was done on just that, and it showed that MSM does get absorbed by the body tissues when taken as a supplement. 

MSM is the flexible bond between proteins. When a cell dies, a new cell takes its place. Without the needed amount of MSM, it attaches and becomes rigid.

When tissues lose their flexibility, problems develop with the lungs and other parts of the body. MSM detoxifies the body and increases blood circulation. Because there are few nerves in the bones, our pain comes from the soft tissue. MSM takes out the inflammation, permits the muscles to heal and prevents them from becoming sore. If you play sports or work-out in a gym and normally get sore muscles the next day, take 4 capsules of 750 mg each of MSM before exercise and you will notice a difference. MGN-3 Triples Your NK Cell Protection

The human immune system is comprised of more than 130 subsets of white blood cells. About 15% of them are called Natural Killer (NK) cells. COLOSTRUM & TRANSFER FACTORS

Colostrum is the special milk that is secreted from the mammary glands for a few days after the birth of a mammal. This is not the regular milk but a pre-milk. Researchers have discovered that this pre-milk contains "information messengers" that can be passed from the mother to her baby, allowing the immune system to recognize antigens. Antigens are foreign invaders to the body and can be in the form of bacteris, viruses, allergens, toxins etc.These researchers have also learned that these factors can be transferred from one species to the next and also to adults as well as babies. Amazing stuff!!!

Most manufacturers remove the milk fats and the milk sugars, leaving what is often called "whey", from the colostrum.The whey contains the transfer factor from that colostrum, These small particles remain even after larger particles are removed from the whey and they seem to be able to pass into the system easily when ingested, providing benefit to the immune system. In colostrum you have millions of different molecules, These can be identified and extracted from the colostrum, however, this would be a very expensive process. The transfer factor particles, in this huge mass of stuff, would be less than one one-thousandth of the original total. Essentially, if you could extract JUST the transfer factors from the colostrum you would have to work with 1,000 gallons of colostrum to get just one gallon of transfer factor. It takes a large quantity of this dried colostrum to give you very much of the transfer factor. It takes about 50 units of dried colostrum to equal one unit of the molecules that are called "transfer factors."  So you can see this would be a VERY expensive process. It is simpler to take the colostrum and simply freeze dry it, putting it into capsules. The freezing kills all the living organisms, but does not harm the transfer factors. This is the form of most colostrum being sold in the market today.

Recently, a company had their researchers develope a process which they had patented by the US Patent Office for the extraction of transfer factor from colostrum. This is an exclusive patent and NO other person may use this patented process. They have an exclusive license to use this patent. With this process you can get the same benefit from taking the Transfer Factor they offer as you would by taking at least 50 times as much colostrum from another company. One capsule (200 mg) of their Transfer Factor has the potential for recognizing at least 100,000 pathogens. They also have a plus formula that has added herbs and nutrients to boost the immune system.

ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a very powerful anti-oxidant. It is soluable in both water and fat. It directly recyles vitamin C and indirectly recycles vitamin E, therefore increasing the anti-oxidant protection it provides.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid is a co-enzyme which is a valuable component in the energy production process within the cells. It seems to be a precursor to components that are involved in the Krebs Cycle, which is one of the body's main energy production cycles. These components facilitate the production of the high energy molecule ATP.

ALA supports the immune system. It restores reduced glutathione levels in nerve cells and reduces lipid peroxidation (oxidation of fats). It helps reduce deficits in nerve conduction and nerve blood flow. Glutathione is another important anti-oxidant associated with healthy liver functioning. ALA is thus a support to healthy liver function.

Having been shown to assist glucose metabolism, ALA may be of benefit in lowering blood glucose levels. Studies on patients with Type II Diabetes have indicated significant reduction in symptoms of Diabetic Neuropathy when taking Alpha-Lipoic Acid.

ACETYL L-CARNITINE

Acetyl L-Carnitine is an amino acid like compound related to Choline. It may assist in the conversion of Choline into Acetylcholine, one of the body's key neurotransmitters. Acetylcholine helps brain cells communicate with each other and when deficient can can predispose a person to a wide range of neurological disorders, including stroke and Alzheimer's disease.

Acetylcholine may promote nerve regeneration and protection to the myelin sheath. Studies have shown it to accelerate nerve regeneration and improve nerve conduction velocity. A human study showed that 1,500 mg a day improved sensory nerve conduction in Type II diabetics suffering from neurogenic impotence. In Europe Acetyl L-Carnitine is used to treat patients with cardiac arrhythmias. It also appears to be part of most anti-aging programs. Apparently there is an age associated decline in cellular energy production which contributes to muscle atrophy during aging. Safer Soap Products

So many of our household and personal care products are filled with toxic chemicals. Safer Soap CONTROLS MICROBIAL GROWTH
           
We know specific control measures can be used to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms.  A procedure which leads to the death of cells is broadly termed cidal, whereas, a procedure which only inhibits growth is termed static. If the organism that is being killed is a bacterium, the term used is bactericidal. Cidal measures are used when it is important that living microorganism be completely eliminated.  Static measures are used when the organisms need not be killed but when their growth must be slowed or stopped.

Many chemicals are used to control microbial growth.The modes of action of growth-controlling chemicals vary, but the most common actions are disruption of cell membranes or interference with nucleic acid or protein synthesis. Some of the most commonly used chemicals are classified as antibiotic, antiseptics, or disinfectants.  Antiseptics are chemicals, which kill or inhibit growth of microorganisms and are safe to use on animal and human tissue.  Antiseptics may be used to treat wounds or as mouth washes. Disinfectants are chemicals that are able to kill microorganisms and are not safe to use on animal or human tissue.
           
Safer Soap formulas are made with micelle technology, which is based on an attraction of molecules that are similar in charge to each other. The mode of action appears to disrupt cell membranes, which would normally be classified as an "antiseptic."  Since the formulas do not contain antibiotics, antiseptics or disinfectants they are not labeled as an antiseptic.

Based upon the scientific data Safer Soap acts as a bactericidal on all gram (-) negative bacteria, members of the Enterobacteriaceae family (e.g. Citrobacter, Edwardsiells, Enterobacter, Escherichia coli, Hafnia alvei, Klebsiella, Morgan Ella, Proteus, Providencia, Salmonella, Serratia, Shigella), at a full strength 3:1 ready-to-use dilution. 

Bacteria belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae are the most commonly encountered organisms isolated from clinical specimens.  They are gram (-) negative bacilli, able to grow readily on all supportive media including blood, cerebrospinal fluid, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, soft tissue, sterile body fluids, urinary tract, and in a variety of loci in immunocompromised hosts.

Based upon the scientific data these solutions are bactericidal on all gram (+) positive bacteria, members of the Micrococcaceae family (e.g. Micrococci, Staphylococci, Stomatococci) and will be effectively killed with the Safer Soap Solutions at a full strength 3:1 ready-to-use dilution.

I will say here that I have seen good results using this product for post surgical wound care. The wounds were cleansed with a 3:1 solution. Then the wound was rinsed. The entire area was then covered with Castor Oil and covered with a guaze bandage soaked with Springs of Life. This seemed to speed up the wound healing. Infection never became an issue, even when dealing with more debilitated and diabetic persons.
